Welcome to ComposerDeck. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, services, and application (collectively, the "Service"). Please read them carefully.
By using the Service, you agree
By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
What requires an account
While the core challenge generator is available without an account, features like submitting audio, saving favorites, and commenting require you to register. You are responsible for safeguarding your account password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Your music, your rules
You retain 100% ownership of the copyright for any original music you create and submit to the Service. We never claim it. We never resell it.
- License to us: By submitting content (such as audio submissions, comments, or profile information) to the Service, you grant ComposerDeck a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute your content in connection with providing and promoting the Service. For example, we need this license to allow other users to stream your audio submissions.
- Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you submit and warrant that you have all necessary rights to post it and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights (e.g., copyrighted samples).
Don't do these things
You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Uploading or sharing content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, or infringes on any intellectual property rights.
- Using the Service for any commercial solicitation or spam.
- Attempting to interfere with the proper functioning of the Service, including its security features.
- Impersonating another person or entity.
What belongs to us
The Service itself, including the website design, branding, text, graphics, logos, and the unique combination of challenge cards, are the exclusive property of ComposerDeck and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or use our branding without our prior written consent.
ComposerDeck Pro
ComposerDeck is free to use. ComposerDeck Pro is an optional paid plan that unlocks additional features. The free tier does not require any payment and never will.
Plans and prices
Pro is offered as a monthly subscription (€3.99 per month), a yearly subscription (€29.99 per year) or a one-time Founder Lifetime purchase (€79). Prices are shown in euros, all taxes included, on our pricing page, which prevails at the time of purchase. If you pay from outside the euro zone, the amount may be presented in your local currency at checkout.
Who sells you the plan
Pro plans are sold through Link, which is Stripe's checkout and merchant of record service. To be clear, because the name can be surprising: Link is Stripe itself, not some third party we resell through. Stripe acts as the seller for the transaction: it takes the payment, calculates and collects the applicable tax, and issues your receipt and invoice. Stripe's own terms apply to that transaction, in addition to these Terms, which govern your use of the Service itself.
In practice: your bank statement shows LINK.COM next to our name (this is normal, it is your ComposerDeck payment), your receipts and invoices arrive from Link, and we never receive or store your card details. Purchases are made on the web; the iOS app does not sell anything.
Renewal and cancellation
Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, either from the billing portal linked on your upgrade page or from your Link account at link.com, where all your purchases are listed. Cancelling stops future payments; your Pro features remain active until the end of the period you already paid for, and no partial refund is due for that period.
Switching between plans
You can move between the monthly and yearly plans from the same billing portal. When you switch, the time you have already paid for is taken into account and the difference is billed or credited automatically on your next invoice.
What "Founder Lifetime" means
The Founder Lifetime plan is a single payment that grants Pro features for as long as ComposerDeck operates the Service. It is tied to your account, is not transferable, and does not entitle you to features sold separately in the future. If we ever discontinue the Service entirely, the plan ends with it.
Changing your mind
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on distance purchases (article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code). We do not ask you to waive it. On the contrary, we keep it simple: write to us within 14 days of your payment and we will refund it in full, no questions asked. You can also ask Stripe directly through Link support, which handles refunds for purchases sold through Link.
Beyond that period, payments already made are non-refundable, except where the law says otherwise. Cancelling always remains free and immediate for the future.
Price changes
We may change our prices. A new price never applies to a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before it applies to a renewal, so you can cancel first if you prefer.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, we leave your Pro features on for a short grace period while your bank or card issuer is retried. If the payment still does not go through, Pro features are suspended. Your account, your decks and your submissions are never deleted: they simply return to the free tier limits, and everything comes back the moment a payment succeeds.
Ending your account
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You can terminate your account at any time from your profile page.
If you delete your account while holding an active paid plan, the plan ends with the account and no refund is due for the remaining period, unless you are within the 14-day window described above.
The legal "as is"
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the operation or availability of the Service. In no event shall ComposerDeck be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Updates and notifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
If something goes wrong
These Terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protections granted by the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
If you have a problem, write to us first: most things are settled in one email. If we cannot agree, you may bring the matter before the competent courts.
